When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in September of last year, Daya’s life, like that of many other pets, was turned upside down. Daya had been away from her family for weeks, and it must have appeared as though she was gone forever as the weeks stretched into months.
Daya’s family, who have now relocated to Massachusetts, just discovered that their beloved dog had been found. She’d been transported to the mainland and met at Second Chance Animal Services, which was close to her new home.
Daya had no clue who would be waiting for her, of course.
